Opera Wheat Challenge

Opera Wheat Challenge is a grower generated on farm trial using BASF Opera Fungicide, distributed in Australia by Nufarm.  Opera Wheat Challenge 2011 is running in Victoria, New South Wales and Southern Queensland working with agronomists and growers to demonstrate the benefits of using Opera in multiple seasons. 

Growers apply Opera with a simple BASF protocol and compare the yield, gross margin and quality of the grain versus thier current fungicide program.  Opera contains two separate modes of action fungicides including BASF’s blockbuster fungicide branded F500. 

Opera Wheat Challenge 2010 results have shown up to 900kg/ha extra wheat yield versus current grower practices, surprising many farmers who are now convinced Opera will now be part of their standard fungicide program.

F500 is now used widely in many crops in Australia and is marketed in the US as Headline.  Headline has recently been awarded its fifth consecutive national US no-till innovation award for disease control in corn, and as a yield increase solution. It's part of the AgCelence plant health support program.
