Q. What benefits does the Clearfield Plus System provide?
A. Broad spectrum, season long weed control – particularly barley grass, brome grass, group A resistant ryegrass and radish.
Q. Where can I buy certified wheat?
A. Either from a certified grower or approved seed merchant.
Q. What are the requirements to grow AGT wheat?
A. You need to sign a Clearfield commitment with AGT on an annual basis for both certified and farm saved seed, and have the harvested seed confirmation tested before reseeding to ensure the Clearfield trait remains. Use a registered BASF herbicide according to label directions on the crop.
Q. Which herbicides can be used on Clearfield Plus wheat?
A. Intervix from BASF is registered for use on Clearfield Plus
wheat varieties
Q. What can be grown the year after using Intervix?
A. Clearfield and Clearfield Plus varieties of canola, wheat and barley can be sown at any stage after the application of Intervix. After 10 months certain legume and cereal crops can be grown. However, there are rainfall requirements during the plant back period and the timing of the initial Intervix application needs to be considered, ie before the end of June. Please consult the label for detail information on plant back periods before applying Intervix
Q. How do I control volunteer Clearfield Plus wheat?
A. There are many options available to control volunteer Clearfield wheat, including tillage and herbicides. Glyphosate is an important and cost-effective herbicide tool that will control volunteer Clearfield wheat. In-crop herbicide applications for pulse and oilseed crops include selective grass control herbicides.
