System benefits

There are three key benefits in the Clearfield® production system for maize.

1. High yielding, herbicide tolerant maize varieties from Australians leading plant breeders and seed companies. These varieties are conventional breeding and are tolerant to Clearfield herbicides.

2. A custom designed herbicide for knockdown and residual weed control of a range of grass and broadleaf weeds including seedling Johnson grass.

3. Advice on Clearfield maize crops from selected Agnova retailers. Staff at these stores receive ongoing training in Clearfield maize crops. An important component of the Clearfield production system is the stewardship program, which details best management practice for Clearfield crops.  The program has some obligatory practices that are aimed at ensuring the sustainability of herbicide tolerant Clearfield crops.
