Clearfield® AgriCentre
and stewardship
Clearfield product stewardship
Stewardship is a vital step in protecting the continued value and viability of the Clearfield® production system. Product stewardship ensures that farmers get the maximum agronomic potential out of the system through the annual purchase of certified seed, and the avoidance of continuous use of the Clearfield production system on the same land. It also involves rotation of crops that utilize different mode of action herbicides, and properly managing weeds in subsequent crops. These measures have been implemented to maintain the herbicide tolerance of Clearfield crops, avoid weed resistance, and to minimize the risk of volunteer seeds not otherwise controlled in subsequent crops.
Stewardship accreditation
There are a number of aspects that must be understood and followed by Agricentre agronomists and growers when using Clearfield production systems. Therefore key information in relation to crop safety, product performance and system sustainability is incorporated into all Agricentre accreditation training under the title "Best Management Practice" for Clearfield Crops.
- New Agricentre agronomists and supporting merchandise staff that have recently attended a Clearfield stewardship accreditation course should complete the examination component and obtain their accreditation certificate.
- Clearfield accredited agronomists who have not attended an update course for at least three (3) years should renew their accreditation prior to expiry.
